Religions in India

The country India is famous, as the land of mysticism and values was the origin of some religions that continue living today in the world.

The main prevailing religion in India at the moment is Hinduism. Approximately 75% of Indians are Hindus. Hinduism is a multicolored religion with an infinite gallery of Gods and Goddesses. Hinduism is one of the oldest religions in the world. It is thought to have been developed approximately 5000 years ago. After that in the early period other religions also came into existence in India.

Approximately 510 BC two more religions came into existence, namely, Buddhism and Jainism. These days only about 0.5% of Indians are Jains and about 0.7% people are Buddhist. In olden times Jainism and especially Buddhism were very famous in India. The people of India who accepted Buddhist viewpoint multiplied not only inside the Indian sub-continent but in addition it spread far and wide to kingdoms east and south of India.

The three oldest religions, Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism, are seen as the base of the Indian philosophy. In contemporary period many fresh religions were also recognized in India.

One relatively latest religion in the country is Sikhism, and it came into being in the 15th century. Approximately 2.5% people of India are Sikhs. There were different efforts to generate new religions in India but they did not invariably thrive. For instance, a Moghul emperor, Akbar, who ruled from 1556, made an attempt to develop a new religion, Din- E- Elahi, but it did not continue to exist for a very long time. There are other spiritual philosophies whose supporters see them as a separate religion, but they do not at all times get this respect. For instance Lingayat of south India see them as a diverse religion, while some others see them as a division of Hinduism. There are also some ancestral communities who insist upon to be accepted as a different religion from Hinduism.

Besides the religions that urbanized in India, there are supporters of religions which never originated in India. The chief non-Indian religion is Islam. They are about 22% of the population of India. Christians are further then 2% of India's population. There are also Zoroastrians. Though they are less then 0.01% of India's population but they are known all over India. There are a few thousand Jews in India. Judaism and Christianity might have reached in India before it came in Europe.

She is then accompanied by her husband (bor) to her new home. The family members of the groom greet her by performing few social customs. Hard Swinging Groomsmen Gifts

The Small Details

Engaged couples go through a whirl of planning; they are sucked into a conundrum of deciding this and that. They have to send out save-the- date-cards and choose and finalize the wedding and reception venues and the bridal finery. When the stage is set, they look at the small details like the groomsmen gifts and they get stuck.

It is true that knowing your groomsmen very well is key to choosing the appropriate groomsmen gifts, but there is more to it than just selecting a pair of cufflinks, no matter how well meaning your intention is. It's an entirely different picture when you give gifts that stoke the passions of your groomsmen.

Sporty gift items are great ideas for groomsmen gifts. They are always relevant; there's always a championship game going on, and your groomsmen, whether he is a corporate executive or a student, have their favorite sport. Give them the edge with accessories they can tote to the greens or to the bowl.

The Big Picture

Golf lovers are always on the lookout to improve their swing; Tiger Woods has them eating their hearts out, so never mind if their shoulders ache from their persistent labors. They spend thousands of dollars to walk the greens to master the perfect arc. Giving little things to ease their golfing miseries make good groomsmen gifts.

Take a peek into the secret lives of golfers. You'll be amazed at how they endure the searing sun to follow the ball, keep their tempers in check, and the quick way they've mastered the art of mentally calculating the odds for the next championship.

They are up and about for their golf practices, quickly hopping out of bed when it's golfing time. You can practically get a host of ideas of groomsmen gifts for your golfing buddies. Here are some ideas that'll help them perfect their swing:

  • Golf putty covers

  • Swiss Army Knife for golfers

  • Magnetic money clips

  • Cross Pens

  • Money Clip Wallets

  • Golf balls

These groomsmen gifts will always be welcome. No golfer worth his salt will shrug off these gifts. With more golfing accessories, they can concentrate on their game because they've got everything covered.

Have these gifts engraved (if it's possible). That adds a "specialness" to a Cross pen or magnetic money clip. You're sure they'll have these tagging along with them to the club and to their office. These become more than just golf gifts. These will be their lifeline for their everyday to-dos.

Give your groomsmen gifts after the wedding blitz, a private party of beer and chips just for them will be a memorable event. An exclusive get-together with the boys will tell them how much you appreciate their efforts - getting into a tuxedo, ushering guests, and giving those heart-warming toasts. You wouldn't have done it without them.

Shopping for groomsmen gifts aren't as hard as you think. All you need is the right thought and a good understanding of your groomsmen's personalities.

Why Diwali is Celebrated in Nothern India - History Behind the Celebration of Deepawali

Diwali is the festival of lights. It is the celebration of victory over vice. It is celebrated by Indians all over the world. Nowadays, Hindus, Sikhs, Jains and even Buddhists celebrate this festival happily and enthusiastically. Diwali is an important, most popular and eagerly awaited festival. It is celebrated in different parts of India differently with a different point of view. There is a history behind the celebration of Deepawali.

In the Northern side of India people celebrate Diwali in their own customs and traditions. People believe that it is the day of return of Lord Ram to his kingdom Ayodhya after fourteen years in exile from the forests from the war against tyrant Ravana. Queen Seeta was abducted by the king of Lanka, Ravana. So, Ram's father, Dashrath, advised him to go to the wild forests to get back the queen. Lord went to the forests with his only brother, Laxman. Finally, Lord Hanuman found Seeta in the kingdom of Ravana. He then went to inform Lord Ram. Then they all reached Lanka with the army of monkies and bears and invaded Lanka. Ravana's brother also joined with them. Ravana defeated. After the victory, Ram returned to Ayodhya. This rejoiced people and welcomed by lighting rows of oil clay lamps.

Today in India, people on the day of Deepawali, remembers the victory honored to Lord Ram. On this day, people wake up early in the morning and wear good clothes. Children and all the elders burst the crackers. It looks very beautiful to see crackers bursting everywhere. They also offer sweets to each other. In the north of India; Hindu merchants open their new books and pray to Goddess Laxmi, the Goddess of wealth, for a joyful and prosperous new year.
Many Years ago, in the village of Gokul, people prayed to the God Indra and wished to send the rains, which can make their crops, grow. But Krishna convinced people to worship the mountain Govardhan, as the land around it was fertile. This did not please Indra. He sent thunder and lightening and torrential rain down on the village. People cried for the help to Krishna. Krishna lifted the top of the mountain with his finger and it saved the villagers. On this day of Diwali, Hindus offer food to God by thanking God.

Dasara History, Dusara Gifts, Dussehra Gifts to India

Vijayadasami (a.k.a Dussehra, Dasara) is a festival celebrated all over India. The festival falls on the tenth day of the bright half (waxing moon) of the Hindu month of Aswiyuja. The festivities last 10 days and Dasara marks the culmination of the festival. It is also referred to as Navaratri. Basically, the legend, as it is in the case of most of the festivals, comprises the victory of Good over Evil. It is also regarded as an auspicious occasion to start new ventures in any field.

The festival of Navaratri comes to a close with Vijayadasami. It is in celebration of the victory of Goddess Durga, also known as Mahishasura Mardini, who defeated the buffalo demon Mahishasura. This event is believed to have taken place close to today's Mysore in the state of Karnataka.

However, in Northern India, the same 10-day festival is in celebration of the victory of Lord Rama, prince of Ayodhya over Ravana, the king of Lanka. Ravana abducted Sita, wife of Rama and held her captive in Lanka. Lord Rama, with the help of Hanuman, Sugreeva, the monkey king of Kishkindha, builds a bridge over the sea and travels to Lanka and kills Ravana in the ensuing battle and takes Sita back with him.

There is another legend associated with this festival. It is in the Mahabharata. Having lost the dice game, Pandavas were banished by the Kauravas for 12 years. They lived in forest during that period. There was the stipulation that they had to remain incognito during that period and in case they were found, they had to spend another 12 years in the forests. At that time, in order not to get exposed, they had to lay aside their divine and powerful weapons. They concealed their weapons in a 'shami' tree close to the place of their residence. At the end of every year, they came to the 'shami' tree and found their weaponry intact, worshipped the tree and Goddess Durga, the presiding deity.

The Kauravas were making every attempt to trace Pandavas so that they could be sent away to the forests once again. By the time Kauravas found them, it was past the stipulated time and Pandavas went to the 'shami' tree, collected their weapons and went straight to the battle field to fight the Kauravas. The day these events take place is dasami (tenth day) and as the Pandavas were victorious, it was also referred to as Vijayadasami. The word 'Vijaya' in Sanskrit means victory. It is for this reason that people exchange leaves from the shami tree and hug each other on the day of Vijayadasami.

On Vijayadasami day, people worship their weapons as it is supposed to be the most auspicious day to do so. Machines, motors and tools that people use to carry out their respective trades and occupations are worshipped as they provide livelihood and bring prosperity to people and society. Vehicles are decorated colorfully on that day and people wear new clothes and exchange greetings. It is also the time to exchange gifts. Companies and businesses declare bonus to their employees during Dasara.

If you intend to send gifts to your near and dear, you can entrust the responsibility to us. We would deliver your order to your friends and relatives in India in time. You can contact place your order with us and be sure to get the gifts delivered in time.

Amma Manikeshwari Matha in her speech was asking devotees only to follow the path of Dharam & Satyam. If we follow our life in the foot steps of Dharma then the God reflects same in form of blessings to us and our family. This is Nada Brahma Vakham Manikeshwari Matha also telling devotees not to perform Animal sacrifice (Bali) at the temples as it is going to add bad karma to one's own life rather than getting blessings of God. Burden Bearing is a Gift

In Isaiah 1:14, God states that the Israelites New Moon festivals had become a burden to him and he was weary of bearing them. God refers directly to his nature of bearing burdens here. To those who suffer through Burden Bearing, do not despair, even the Lord got weary in Burden Bearing, but more on this later. In Genesis 6:5-6 we see aspects of God's heart. He was grieved and filled with pain because of the people's wickedness and the thoughts of their hearts were evil all the time; God was carrying burdens of their sin. In Exodus 3:7 we see God talking to Moses and God says to Moses that he has seen the misery of his people and is concerned about their suffering. In Exodus 28:36-38 we see that God sets up in the Temple aspects of his nature of Burden Bearing in the regulations of the High Priest to bear burdens of guilt.

The Lord reveals that people also carry burdens. We are created in the image of the God, which is an amazing thought. What we consider spiritual gifts are aspects of God's nature; more on this later. The gift of Burden Bearing is an aspect of God's nature. Scripture has also revealed that mankind also deals with this gifting, though we have not realized or understood it.

Sometimes a Burden Bearer will try to walk out a person's bad stuff; they may also try to walk out their good stuff also. Have you ever noticed that when you are around an evangelist you have this feeling you want to evangelize? This may not be yours. You can have a synergistic effect with the person and magnify his gifting, you may even be able to walk in that gifting, yet what is happening is that your gifting of Burden Bearing is in operation. You are so much in sync with the person that you are walking in their giftings. Yes, this can get confusing, but not if you stay in His presence and only do what He wants you to do, and release a person's good and bad stuff to the cross with only the good stuff going back to them, hopefully with an added blessing.

A Burden Bearer that is full of icky stuff can also pass that stuff to other people, if the Burden Bearer is not walking in holiness and not praying that the connection between him and the other person is being purified through the cross. What happens is that the Burden Bearer becomes defiled and so he or she defiles all that they come in contact with.

The gift of Burden Bearing is a powerful gift and the devil hates its operation in a self sacrificing cross bearing Christian. But, he will use it to spread stuff to others if he can't destroy the Christian. Like a sink that is meant to wash dishes, if the dishwater is not changed then it just defiles all the dishes that are processed through it; especially if the water has not been changed for weeks, months, or years. I recommend cleansing prayers as often as possible, yet at least three times a day, before your morning and even sacrifice, and then just before bed. This will be wonderful refreshing and cleansing and allow you to better discern what you are picking up during the day.

Keys to understanding what you are going through at a specific time are to know and describe what you are feeling at a specific time and how these feelings appeared. Were you just outside and saw a stranger and all of a sudden you are angry? A key is looking back through the last fifteen minutes to see who you were just around. Also to pray and see if anyone comes to mind. If you see a person whether you know them or not, the Lord may be showing you a picture of who you are connected to. Most burden Bearers can tell what other people are feeling, yet cannot tell what they are feeling at any given time. Writing down and/or discussing your feelings and giving names to those feelings will greatly help you to know what you are going through, determine when you have pick up something, what you have picked up, and greatly help you to process those emotions. Sometimes God gives a Burden Bearer clues as to what they are picking up through physical sensations in their body. As for me personally, when I leave someone and my chest starts constricting and I am having a hard time breathing, I immediately start asking the Lord about anxiety in that person's life. (As a note: if you are having medical conditions that require medical treatment do go to see your doctor, emergency room, or medical professional. Always continue with all Medical Professionals treatments and instruction).

A Burden Bearer can pick up many things at one time and from many different people. To give you some examples a Burden bearer may all of a sudden be in a state of confusion. Many times I have left someone's house and then not know how to get home. I know I am to take a right here and a left there, but I can't remember anything but where I am to turn next; I always get home though. When I notice this I seek the Lord on whom and what I am to pray for them. The person may have a spirit of confusion on them, they may need understanding as to where the next step in their way to God's heart is, or they may be in confusion as to where their relationship with God is at.

All these things I have described can effect a Burden Bearer, but also may not affect certain Burden Bearers, for we all have things in common, but we all have things that are different in how we personally walk out this very wonderful gift of the nature of God called Burden Bearing.

All praise and glory be to God's wonderful love, who is willing to weep with those who weep and is willing to help us carry the things that are too heavy for us, according to his wonderful love that was demonstrated through Christ's death on the Cross. To this demonstration of love is what the Burden Bearer is called; to carry the heart of God, by carrying his or her cross, and interceding for the transgressions according to God's will.

Grace and peace to you.
